I just took third in the initial Monkey Tourney at Poker Stars. Mike came over, per our usual and made a good time of it.
After I got into the money (the tourney payed three) I got a little pushy and ended up getting pushed back. It’s always hard to gauge when to push and when not to push when the table goes short handed and you’re already in the money. Are people more apt to call with mediocre hands? Are they repoping my preflop raise with garbage just because I raised the last 12 hands in a row?
I ended up pushing my 8 BB in with the best hand and getting called by aebooth37 when he was dominated. My KT to his K7. He nailed a 7 on the flop and took me down — a quality suckout to end my tourney. And I wouldn’t want my monkey tourney to end any other way now would I?
