After four hours of poker today, I’m down $5. That’s almost a whole buy-in. I might have been trying to get too fancy today. I should go back to basics. Making idiots call my bet when I have a great hand.
I was worried about building pots on speculative hands so that I could cash in when they hit — doing things like min-raising small pairs pre-flop to generate big actions for my sets. Of course, after my one set today hit, someone else had an over-set. That’s a great way to clean out your stack.
