As you can see, I folded. Here’s my thinking. I raise it up from early position with 99 thinking that my hand is probably the best, and if it’s not, I’ll know for sure if I’ve caught up on the flop or not. Everybody folds to the SB, who calls. And then the BB raises. The problem here is that the BB is a small stack. So, now if the BB has a better pair than I do, I have no implied odds to hit my set anymore. So the question now becomes, is my 99 better than what the BB has?

It seems a shame to get bullied out of a pot by a tiny stack, but I think folding is correct here. I had no idea where I stood, and so I saved my money for later.
